Demote Her To Elementary School And Maybe They'll Win State
From the Update:
Bridgeport won its first playoff game in more than seven years with a 3-0 win over Whitney in Crowley. Pitcher Cami Riley held Whitney to three hits while the Sissies pounded out 10 hits. The Sissies will face Graham next week as they aim for a state title under Coach Lori Lammers.
Wasn't it announced a couple of months ago that the coach would be demoted beginning next year? Yep.

She is not being demoted because of her coaching. Her combative interaction with most of the coaching staff is what caused the reassignment.
What a JOKE! Football coaches can yell at our kids and each other...even CURSE our kids, and all is well as long as we make the playoffs. Lammers "intimidates" assistant MALE coaches! PLLLLEASE tell me you are not going to hang your hat on that in court! And this will Go TO COURT! People have had ENOUGH!
Congratulations to the Sissies and their coach. Why not just leave the personality conflicts out of this for once and let the school handle it?
These kids are just having a great time and enjoying a nice win.
The point is this:
The girls won! They play every home game on a field that is NOT Regulation size. The buy their own shoes and good bats if they are to have any. They aren't allowed to touch a softball until after school for practice. ...and they win anyway. Maybe they just have something to prove and it looks like they are doing it!

Have you idiots ever thought that one reason the coaches cuss is b/c it relates to all of the kids that are listening. Don't tell me your child doesn't say bad words. Don't tell me when they screw up a majority of you don't say them either. You people need something else to worry about. I played for Henson and to be honest I didn't care for him as a coach but I respected him and what he had done and continues to do. He doesn't place as much emphasis on sports other than football b/c that is what keeps his job. If he wins at football then he gets to choose whether or not he wants to leave. That effected other sports I participated in but that is just the way it works. He doesn't have to win 8 games a year as long as his team is playing in the 11th game when 3/4 of the High School Football teams are putting up the pads.
Coaches don't have to cuss. It's ridiculous. There is no possible explanation for it that makes any sense. If there were a legitimate reason, then all coaches would cuss, as would teachers and bosses. Nothing unique about football that requires bad language as the only means to communicate a direction to run, which play to call, or how to tackle somebody.
I played for Lammers and Never did she cuss at us! The wrong person is being demoted here.
Wake up BRIDGEPORT ISD. This is going to hurt us way more than anyone ever realized. Some "good" girls are already talking about leaving the district.

Anon 11:09 Let the girls move to other schools. They will find this goes on at other schools also. BTW I had a daughter play for the coach...and YES she did cuss at them and knock their self esteem down.

I do not think it is a joke when Coach Lammers continues to create a hostile work environment. There is no intimidation involved. It is pure hostility towards anybody that dares to differ from her opinion.
Yes the other coaches’ yell/encourage the kids, but they rarely have yelling matches with other coaches. Coach Lammers has had aggressive incidents with just about every coach at BHS. Particularly the other Girl Coaches!!!
I really do not want this to go to court because it is such a waste of taxpayer money. But if Coach Lammers feels the need to jeopardize her future employment, so be it. Do you really think another Texas School District/ Athletic Director will talk to her if she sues her current employer?
I also think it is a waste of time because, the Superintendent, the Personal Director and the AD all signed off on this re-assignment. How many years of experience do these gentlemen have, 40+? I am sure they have all their ducks in a row.
I think any court will see that Coach Lammers is an angry person and the school district had to do something to correct the hostile environment she created. The lawsuit that I would be worried about would come from the other coaches and teachers at BHS. If the ISD did not do something about Coach Lammers’ treatment of the staff, I believe they could win easily.
The reason there is controversy in girls high school athletics is......Females are involved!!!
Mommies get upset when "Princess" doesn't get her way. Are you trying to say if the school bought better bats, each girl would not want her own? Is your daughter going to wear shoes the school furnishes and turn them in at season's end? I doubt it. Why not watch your child compete and enjoy the experience for what it is? Way to go Sissies, good luck.

I am willing to bet this group of girls would play their hearts out no mateer who the coach is. It is just how they are.

I have heard that some of the parents that were at the meeting supporting the girls coach have had a turn of heart. Now they are supporting her leaving. GROW UP adults and let the kids play their game. 4 years fly by let them enjoy them.
At least Coach Henson prays with our kids. He may cuss at times, all our coaches do but who care!
The pledging is not in order here. The sissies and the forth of bats and shoes did not hold up to the season. Coaching is the cuss of it, and with this fact comes the relocation.
Amen! 11:24 - grow up is right! if folks have such a problem with a coach, go through the channels and report him/her. If enough folks did this, it WOULD get the attention of administration and school board. These folks have an obligation to the taxpayers to investigate allegations such as this.
My daughter and I know Coach Lori from a different perspective as a private coach and not a school coach. And yes she is tough but she also has taught my daughter more about pitching and hitting in 3 lessons that any of the high powered coaches we had been too. We know alot of the girls and of course as all girls they want to win, but I truly believe they are out to prove a point and have played their hearts out for this lady.
I personally think BISD make a mistake but if it turns out for these girls to win state or even recieve the recognition they have gotten because of their accomplishments, maybe everyone will see a positive in it. Trust me she will not have any trouble going somewhere else.
She is a great coach. I played for her. In Bridgeport it is Danny's way or the Highway! I hope somebody files Title IX and it cost him his cush job. He didn't ever come out of his office when I was in school. Played on his computer all day and according to my parents he spent several hours a day either drinking coffee with his buddies or out to lunch.
Few of the guys (I know)that played for him can stand him now, what does say about him.

People keep talking about Title IX
but I haven't seen anyone actually point to a Title IX violation. It is easy to throw a term around, much harder to actually research it and find out if you do have a credible complaint. Go ahead and file a Title IX suit and the only thing that will come out of it is the baseball boys will get a dressing room at their field. That will give all the whiners something to yell about.

she kinda has since she taken the program to a new level only to be fired because other male coaches cant stand a strong woman. i saw the baseball team did not make it....AGAIN.

Did anyone pay ANY attention to the other things that the Decatur Title IX found? The entire system has had to change its grievance procedure so that there is an organized route that WILL get attention and citizens won't be stiff armed at the will of the admin (including the AD)...
A policy was found to be not only discriminatory but ILLEGAL and was removed!
The adminitration was found to have VIOLATED the complainants civil rights to due process.
Nothing will go on in DISD anymore without their first being consideration given to legality and fairness! That Title IX complaint led to many changes in DISD. Who cares if the boys got a new changing room. If they needed one...they needed one!
Amen! The process worked. I don't have a dog in the fight in Bport, but from what I've heard the AD had divided all the booster clubs up and now boys and girls athletics are not on the same side. The business owners are getting hit up to pay for twice as much and they hate it. This AD has done a good job of pitting boys against girls in my opinion.
I have a friend that teaches there, and "HE" says that the male coaching staff treats the girls and their coaches horrible.
Ok, for those of you that think all is well in Bridgeport. Why are people moving their kids out of the district to get them away from the AD amd his athletic department. It is not just one family, try several. Eventually, someone will make a point and not just move away! It is going to happen.
Let me move away. They are probably the ones that start all the belly aching in the first place. Let the next school system have to deal with them. I feel sorry for the kids that have to put up with their parents not getting their way. Don't worry about the kids moving away...we have just as many more moving in from other school districts. That are better than the ones moving out.
Keep up the good work -- one team, one direction!
Two Things...
#1 - All of the towns in the county are too close to each other and it is way too easy to just move to another district if things don't go your way. There should be a law/policy against doing just that. Moving your kids to another district without physically moving to another district is the most ridiculous thing in the world. If something is wrong, stand up and make a difference - not just run away when you feel like it. What lessons are these people teaching their children?
#2 - Why is it when sports are discussed, the most ignorant people respond. I read every one of these posts and have never seen such bad grammar and misspelled words. It doesn't appear that education is very high with anyone and we aren't talking about high school - this is basic elementary!!!
2:21...two things:
1. In your first paragraph, the word "your" should be replaced with the word, "ones" for correct usage. One should refrain from writing in the second person.
2. In your second paragraph you have a compound sentence that requires a comma. The comma should be placed after the word, "anyone."
Have you ever heard of typos? Those sometimes account for misspelling. However, correct grammar usage reflects true intellect. (Don't fall when you get off your high horse!)
1 and out. I guess lammers should apply at Decatur. I think they are getting use to this!
Check yourself. Decatur has been 1 and out in how many of this years playoffs? As far as Lammers coming to Decatur? You guys keep her. We ahve our own Coaching problems. Although, she could get a job with SNL and start up a new It's Pat show. She does kind of have the same characteristics.
Wow, lots of comments. I'm from Altantic, Iowa and Lori Lammers was hired as our Varsity girls softball coach. We definately are starting to have problems between the coach and players. Is there some history here that I as a parent should know about. Would love to hear what went down in TX.
