The heir apparent to Channel 8s (very spare) weatherman Troy Dungan is Pete Delkus. The guy just wears me out with his over emphatic weather reporting.

How can any weather guy/girl in their right mind be emphatic about anything when with the best of luck they are wrong just a wee bit more than 50% of the time unless it is August in Texas and they're predicting the temp to be "hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk?"
I don't know about trhe personality aspect of weather but their forecasting is getting better. Yesterday's storm was predicted about 5 days ago. While it had the standard "hedges", (possibly severe, etc.)to predict that there will be a thunderstom complex that will move through the area within a 6 hour window, 5 days in advance is impressive.
Mr. Delkus does beat Mr. Dungan who is so rote you can predict his next words. Good to see some life at WFAA. By the way, Mr. Delkus MUST be a former Marine with that sooooooo outta style hair. Geez, let it grow out a little.
The only reason old timers liked Howard Taft was that he was always there - drawing fluffy clouds - whether any were in the forecast or not. Howard was a dufus but apparently lots of folks liked him. Anyone could have forecast as well as he did by looking out the window.

Weather is so goofy!!!!!
Unlike Harold, most of these TV "weatherman" wouldn't know a dry line from a dry county.

That's why I'm a Channel 5 person. Love that Rebecca Miller and the rest of the crew too - David Finfrock too - both who were hired by The Chief.
I miss good ole Harold Taft too.
I never could stand Harold Taft for some reason....can't explain why.

Here's some info on Delkus:
