Hold Me

Stolen from another site: "A lot was made over Samuel Alito's wife breaking down in tears yesterday and the reaction . . . was not unexpected. The following day after his wife's anguish, how do you think Alito expressed his sympathy for her at the end of the hearing-which obviously was a grueling ordeal for her?" Link

That was your lamest observation (granted it was not original) in a while. Maybe they prefer to keep that stuff private.

It looks like you Demos will be the next ones crying. I hope you hug for the cameras on the way out of the room.

Why didn't you put a bit of video on showing what prompted her to cry? And unless Alito has eyes in the back of his head, he likely didn't even know about this, until after it was over.

If Mrs. A thinks it is bad now, it'll be a whole lot worse when he gets his "Supreme" job.

If you watched it on tv the other night, the lady sitting next to her leaned over and whispered something to her when she was crying and then she got up and left, came back later not crying. Was the lady telling her she was embarrasing and to get herself together? That is what it looked like.

Maybe she suggested that there was a private place she could go to compose herself. I guess some people don't understand that it could be possible that a wife could hurt when her husband was unfairly attacked. To have to endure Sen. Kennedy giving morality lectures would take a lot of intestinal fortitude.

I could also understand why some would think everything is staged after enduring the Clinton years ("I feel your pain".. or everyone's favorite mock anger "I did not sleep with that woman")

Did I miss something? Did she not break down when he was being questioned by a Republican?

I feel another Kitty Dukakis coming on, even tho she was a demo. I'm surprised Scalito didn't shoot her - maybe that's what that lady leaning over to her was saying. For fun, I'd like to see a list of wacko pol's wives or hubbys. Let's start with Betty Ford (R)- prescript drugs, right? Now we have the BF Clinic - that's a good thing. Kitty D - what was it she was drinking - cough syrup, rubbing alcohol, vanilla flavoring, - I forget. I am sure there are more, even way back in history - oh yeah, wasn't Eleanor a lesbo? Any additions, national and local are welcome. See what politics can do to you?

What bothers me about all of this questioning is how can anybody expect a man to know what he might do until he is on the court and is faced with making a decision.

It's like asking somebody, "hey, what's it like to die"?......

..and if Alito screws up, heck we've got ONE woman on the court.

...she'll set him straight! :-)

..Ruth B. Ginsberg is gonna miss Sandra Day O'Connor.

..so am I.
