I'm Surprised He's Not Issuing A December Deep Freeze Warning Just In Case

Gov. Rick Perry has learned from his neighbors. Today he said: "My fellow Texans, the latest projections for Hurricane Rita indicate it is likely to intensify and may make landfall in Texas late this week. This morning I issued a disaster declaration for Texas and asked President Bush to approve that declaration and 100 percent reimbursement for Texas communities responding."

I'm sure this is just the beginning of this kind of thing from all the "powers that be" when there is any threatening weather situation...

What would you expect after the slaughter by the media and the media elite?

I guess there still looking for the 10-70M people that the media told us were going to be dead in NO. Maybe Sean Penn can tell where they are.

I say they should start handing out the $2,000.00 checks now! Just put them on the good old Uncle Sam Deficit credit card. Taxes we don't need no stickin taxes!

10-70M people? There was only 1.3 million people in New Orleans..

If I were a Katrina survivor in Houston, I might think God is trying to send me a message....or, I might just get two $2,000 checks and stay in front of hurricanes!

If Rita hits Texas, we can see how well Perry handles all the problems. He may send the evacuees to New Mexico...just keep sending them West...all the way to California...then an earthquake will hit and they can send them back east....

Then the tornadoes can hit the mid west and the clean-up can start there.

Is anyone thinking Global Warming might be causing some problems????

Governor Goodhair should look right behind him to view an intense blowhard.

Mr. Delay (seated behind our Gov) was quoted as saying: "I'm from the Federal Government and I am here to help you"

Can't we just go ahead and declare that Texas and Federal government response to Rita was inadequate.

CNN can start its Special report "Rita, what went Wrong" Clinton can tape his interviews saying that his administration planned for a storm like Rita and could have adverted such a disaster. The Hollywood Elite can film "public service" spots blaming Bush and Perry right now. Al Gore can address global warming as the "real" cause and blame big oil and the auto companies.

That's it a rapid response team to start blaming people right away.

lordy, we don't want Rita blowing the gov's hair....

.....anybody remember the sign somebody put out in front of the governor's mansion saying,"it's ok to be gay, gov"....

only Anita knows!

We should be thankful for a pro-active governor. Only those who do nothing have the opportunity to sit by and be critical.

We bitch we they don't do anything...we bitch when they do.

If the gov was gay he would live in Decatur.

I think that the National Weather Service is racist. Where are all the black names. I don't see a Shanequia on there. Or Hurricane Latoya.. What about Hurricane Jackson?

Now that's funny last anon

I was just putting that out there-before someone else did. I am sure someone would have said it sooner or later.

I like what Jay Leno said last night. It went something like this:

"You know, this is about the ninth hurricane we've had this year. Maybe it's not such a good time to take "God" out of the pledge."

Smartest thing I think he's ever said.

On a heavier note, these are not the last of natural disasters or tragedies to come our way. Read your Bible.
