Considering some of the incredibly stupid ststements his wife has made recently, you have to give him credit.
I bet her son would be really happy to know that his death has also caused his parents divorce. Poor kid.
His mother should stop and think about what she is doing to her life and the memory of her son. He was not drafted, so he must have signed up for the armed forces. It was his choice and he very well knew what could happen to him.
I am very sorry for her loss but she needs to look at everything else that she is about to lose.
Not only did he volunteer for the Army but he was a mechanic that had gone out on a voluntary mission to rescue injured soldiers when his unit was ambushed resulting in his and six other deaths.
In a magazine article his mother stated that she felt like she failed her son. She needs to catch a clue! Your son over-doses on drugs or is killed committing a crime then you might have failed.
I have to go with the husband on this one. As a Vet and a mother of a Marine and a Soldier, I am mortified at the woman's actions. I can't believe her son would be happy with what she is doing. He chose to be where he was. He was an adult and made his own choices and chose to serve his country without question. She is acting like he was still a little boy that she shouldn't have let go out to play. She has bigger issues than just the death of her son. I hope she gets some help.
Her son is an American hero. She is a mortification to others who have lost loved ones while in service. She should honor her son's sacrafice by disappearing.
